When you call to schedule an appointment, we will gather all your basic information (including any insurance details) and then send you a welcome email, through which you can complete your online registration. Then when you come in, everything is ready to go! We’ll escort you to one of our comfortable rooms, take x-rays and photos, and give your smile a thorough cleaning. Once your teeth are sparkling clean, Dr. Chang comes in for the examination. In addition to checking for decay and malfunctioning dental work, we’ll look for oral cancer, the alignment of your teeth, perform a sleep apnea evaluation, and more. Your first visit lasts about an hour and a half.

Our new patient dental check up and cleaning appointment can last up to 90 minutes. Here's why; at Dental Serenity, we provide the best services possible and we are very thorough with our work. When you first come in, we will take professional and intra-oral 'before' photos of your teeth with a full series of x-rays to evaluate your dental needs. If there are any dental concerns you want us to know about, this is the time to tell us. As the dentist review your photos and x-rays, our hygienist will do a periodontal assessment which means, evaluating your gums by looking at its color, texture, and shape. She will also measure pocket depths and look for any bleeding and recession.
Then, the we will start the dental cleaning, making sure to remove any plaque and/or tartar above your gums. After that, we will polish your teeth to remove any leftover plaque and stains prior to flossing your teeth to make sure everything is nice and smooth.
Lastly, we will take some 'after' photos to show you the difference in cleanliness and the importance of brushing and flossing, while evaluating some of your dental needs and concerns. We will go over the proper way to brush and floss, and we will recommend any tips and products to make it easier. All of this is concluded with the exam by the dentist.
The difference between having a dental check up here vs elsewhere is based on these factors; Technology, Expertise, Experience and The Love Providers have for dentistry.
